I just caught Reefer Madness on Netflix last night - at least part of it. I haven't seen it for probably 20 years, but it never fails to deliver. :)
In high school, this movie was big amongst the "stoner" crowd. I wasn't really part of that group, but it's still a hilarious movie.

The classic really is hilarious. I hadn't thought about it before, but it reminds me a bit of how D&D was demonized in Mazes and Monsters.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I pretty much have to recommend Reefer Madness: the movie musical (2005). It's a movie based on a play inspired by the original propaganda film. Pot zombies, the pot orgy, religious visions, and the lyrics... my God, the lyrics. Check it out.
I saw this on the Riff Trax Live last year. It's crazy stuff. I've had that second pic on my harddrive for a while, waiting for the proper City post for it.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about this film. I got the impression that it was the mary jane version of Mazes & Monsters. It seems I was right and I must see it now since I have Netflix.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff. I'll have to check out that musical. Trey - that movie poster looks ripe for Weird Adventures style of setting. :)
